Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Planning Officer to join our Development Management team at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with considerable town planning experience in Development Management.

As a Senior Planning Officer, you will play a key role in the determination and delivery of high-quality development, providing a nationally recognised 'platinum service', exceeding targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a challenging but interesting case load of planning and associated applications
  • Work well in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including developers, residents, and other external partners
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of planning policies and strategies

As a Senior Planning Officer at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, you will enjoy a balanced work-life with a minimum of two days in the office and the flexibility to work from home for the rest of the week.

Additional benefits include 26 days of annual leave (increasing to 29 days after 5 years of continuous Local Government service), plus an additional day in December.
