About the Role

This is a rare opportunity for a permanent, part-time Dementia Advisor role in Inverness and Nairn. As a key member of the Alzheimer Scotland team, you will provide advice, information, and practical support to people living with dementia, their families, and carers.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and caring individual to work in a flexible role that meets the needs of people with dementia and their carers throughout Inverness and Nairn. The focus and location of the post holder's activity will vary from time to time depending on the needs of the people we support.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide advice, information, and practical support to people living with dementia, their families, and carers.
  • To develop social and therapeutic activities that meet the outcomes of local people affected by dementia.
  • To work with a range of external partners and colleagues to promote and develop a broader understanding of and positive attitudes to dementia.
  • To adopt and demonstrate a positive leadership approach for the small but effective team that will influence a positive culture of engagement in the local communities.

Requirements

  • A positive approach to dementia.
  • Good communication and IT skills.
  • A caring attitude.
  • A willingness to learn and participate in training.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.

About You

You will have a strong commitment to improving the lives of people living with dementia and their families. You will be able to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a part-time position, working 28 hours per week. You will also receive a range of benefits, including a generous pension scheme and annual leave.
