Business Development Associate

As a Business Development Associate at Wesco International, Inc., you will play a key role in identifying and developing strategic relationships with potential customers and introducing supplier opportunities. You will work closely with the Sales team to develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct and indirect customer contact and lead prospecting. Your partnership with Marketing, Sales, Category Management, and Product Development teams will be crucial in implementing business development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and Category Management to identify customer lead opportunities and develop them into potential opportunities.
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative business development pipeline analysis and ongoing status to management.
  • Develop and utilize qualitative and quantitative tools to create business cases for customers, including revenue potential, probability of conversion, costs, risks, and benefits.
  • Facilitate and maintain relationships with the business unit Sales, Marketing, and Category Management teams to cultivate a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Responsible for creating and distributing monthly reports summarizing business development and integration activities.
  • Enhance and maintain a standardized approach for collecting information on business profiles, including financial backgrounds, for presenting strategic acquisitions and joint venture candidates to management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Requires knowledge and experience in financial services/business development (2-3 years).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Analytical skills in finance and accounting, including proficiency in analyzing financial statements and completing financial models.
  • Ability to lead the implementation of small to medium-scale projects and facilitate meetings.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, written and verbal, and interact with all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to concurrently manage moderately complex and parallel projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision and establish priorities for others in one or more departments.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
