The Role


As a Package Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will have the opportunity to join our business and be part of delivering world-class engineering support services to the Royal Navy.


Day-to-day, you'll be required to coordinate and manage the planning, estimating, delivery, close out, and archiving of planned Fleet Time Support Period (FTSP) work packages, unplanned work (UPW), Alterations & Additions (A&As), Deployed Support Periods (DSP), and Docking Essential Defect Survey (DEDS) periods.



  • Act as the main point of contact for the overall management of programmed and un-programmed work packages, producing schedules and working with relative stakeholders including the Class Output Management team (COM) and ships' staff.
  • Chair and facilitate FTSP service provider meetings including take-on, plan of the day, weekly progress, and close-out meetings.
  • Identify and de-conflict other work on board to ensure the success of the FTSP/UPW/DEDS/DSP & A&As without detriment to the whole ship's programme.
  • Sub-contractor management and liaison with customers and suppliers.

This role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and is based on site at our location.


Essential Experience of the Package Manager



  • An understanding of project management principles (Prince 2 / APM / Lean Six Sigma).
  • Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, real-time decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills are required, along with the drive and enthusiasm to work in a challenging role within a busy and highly successful team.
  • Computer literacy skills essential, Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • An understanding of contracts and financial controls (desirable).

Qualifications for the Package Manager



  • An HNC/HND in an Engineering/Technical subject, or equivalent experience in an engineering role.

Security Clearance


The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
