About the Role

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and compassionate Paediatric Support Assistant to join our Paediatric Dietetic Service.

As a key member of our team, you will provide vital support to our Paediatric Dietitians, working with children and their families to promote healthy eating and nutrition.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver group programmes for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Condition and associated selective eating or limited diet.
  • Support children with Cow's Milk Allergy through group programmes.
  • Provide assistance in Special School clinics, weighing, and measuring children.
  • Support children with high Body Mass Index and under the care of specialist dietitians.
  • Offer face-to-face and telephone appointments for children with nutritional deficiencies and constipation.
  • Support the Paediatric Dietitians with tasks, including message taking and arranging delivery of feeding equipment for children who are tube fed at home.
  • Collaborate with student dietitians on placement.

Requirements

  • Higher National Certificate, Vocational Qualifications level 4 or 5, Foundation Degree, Higher National Diploma, Diploma in Higher Education, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition in health and disease, including malnutrition, nutrition support, and principles of healthy eating.
