Job Title: Assistant Practitioner in Paediatric Dietetics

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Practitioner to join our Paediatric Dietetic Service at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to children and young people with complex nutritional needs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in paediatric dietetics. You will work closely with our team of experienced dietitians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver group programmes for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Condition who have associated selective eating or limited diet
  • Deliver group programmes for infants and young children with Cow's Milk Allergy
  • Provide support in Special School clinics by weighing and measuring children
  • Provide support for children referred to the service who have a high Body Mass Index and who are under the care of the specialist dietitian
  • Provide face-to-face and telephone appointments for children with nutritional deficiencies and constipation and other similar conditions
  • Provide support for the Paediatric Dietitians by taking messages and arranging delivery of feeding equipment for children who are tube fed at home
  • Help support student dietitians who are on placement
Requirements
  • Education to Higher National Certificate, Vocational Qualifications level 4 or 5, Foundation Degree, Higher National Diploma, Diploma in Higher Education or equivalent
  • A basic knowledge of nutrition in health and disease including malnutrition, nutrition support and principles of healthy eating
  • Experience of working with patients and carers with different medical conditions
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
