Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Acute Assessment Unit at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term post to cover maternity leave, and we are looking for a qualified APNA with advanced clinical skills and higher-level decision-making abilities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of children and young people's acute health needs, planning and evaluating care delivery accordingly
  • Utilise advanced clinical skills and autonomous decision-making in assessment, diagnosis, management, and treatment of illness and health-related issues
  • Employ an evidence-based approach to diagnosis and management, incorporating research findings relevant to illness management
  • Contribute to specialist education and training, as well as clinical supervision, self-reflection, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Act as a senior decision-maker on the assessment unit, adhering to RCPCH standards for short-stay paediatric assessment units

Requirements

  • NMC registrant
  • Non-medical prescriber
  • Evidence of professional development against the 4 pillars of practice
  • Advanced Paediatric Life Support trained
