About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential suppliers for technical goods and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Identification and Evaluation: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for technical goods and services.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
  • Quality and Technical Specifications: Ensure all purchases meet the company's quality and technical specifications.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand technical requirements.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
  • Purchasing Strategies: Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost and efficiency.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers and deliveries.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities and performance.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment.
  • Logistics and Warehouse Coordination: Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure the timely delivery of goods.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and improve purchasing processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in procurement and supply chain management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CPP (Certified Purchasing Professional) are added advantage.
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the oil and gas sector, including the technical materials and equipment utilized.
  • Regulations and Standards: Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Software and Systems: Proficiency in procurement software and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
  • Analytical and Negotiation Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess supplier performance, costs, and market trends. Exceptional negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with suppliers and internal teams. Strong teamwork skills to work closely with various internal stakeholders.
  • Financial Management: Competence in managing budgets and the financial aspects of procurement. Understanding of cost management and financial analysis principles.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills are needed to manage multiple procurement activities concurrently.
