Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Clinical Psychologist to become a vital part of our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. This position provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your expertise in Clinical Psychology, with a specific emphasis on Mental Health Services for Children and Young People. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to cultivate and broaden their clinical interests and experiences within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in service leadership and development, contributing to a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations of children, adolescents, and their families
  • Developing and executing treatment plans for psychological therapy and management of mental health issues
  • Providing neuropsychological evaluations and interpreting assessment results
  • Delivering regular clinical supervision and managing caseloads

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Honours degree in Psychology
  • Registered Practitioner Psychologist with HCPC
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience in clinical supervision and psychological therapies
  • Specialized training in therapeutic practices with children

Experience:

Essential:

  • Background in Child and Adolescent Mental Health
  • Ability to adhere to professional standards and guidelines
  • Strong organizational and negotiation capabilities
  • Direct clinical experience across various environments

Desirable:

  • Experience in overseeing junior psychology staff
  • Training in a variety of therapeutic approaches
  • Experience in psychological assessment and intervention

Skills:

Essential:

  • Proficient keyboard skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to plan and organize tasks effectively
  • Capacity to manage stress and handle emotional clinical material
  • Flexibility in working hours and the option for remote work
  • Valid full driving license

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Electronic Patient Record Systems
