Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers the opportunity to develop and expand your clinical interests and expertise in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of children, young people, and their families to inform treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based psychological therapies and interventions to address mental health issues.
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to junior psychology staff to ensure high-quality care.
  • Contribute to service development and leadership, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

About the Role:

As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, contributing to the growth and development of psychology services in the Trust. You will be expected to work autonomously, making decisions and taking ownership of your caseload.

Requirements:

  • Good honours degree in Psychology.
  • Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
  • Training and experience in clinical supervision and psychological therapies.
  • Specialist training in psychological therapies with children.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in managing junior psychology staff.
  • Training in multiple therapeutic interventions.
  • Experience in psychological assessment and intervention.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Standard keyboard skills and IT competence.
  • Capacity for planning and organizing tasks.
  • Ability to manage stress and emotional clinical material.
  • Flexibility in working hours and remote working.
  • Current full driving license.
