Exciting Opportunity for a Staff Nurse Community

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join our team on the Rowan Suite, where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

The Rowan Suite is a 13-chaired day unit that cares for patients with a range of cancers who are receiving chemotherapy. Our team is dedicated to providing an individualized and supportive environment for patients, and we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to delivering high-quality care.

As a Staff Nurse on our team, you will be responsible for assessing patients for chemotherapy, administering and disposing of intravenous and chemotherapy safely, and providing one-to-one and telephone advice to patients and their families regarding treatment side effects and management of side effects.

You will also have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients, and to develop your skills and knowledge in oncology and haematology.

We are committed to providing our staff with the training and support they need to succeed in their roles, and we offer a comprehensive induction program and ongoing training and development opportunities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess patients for chemotherapy to ensure their physical condition and blood parameters are satisfactory to safely receive treatment.
  • Administer and dispose of intravenous and chemotherapy safely in accordance with Trust and National Guidelines.
  • Provide one-to-one and telephone advice to patients and their families regarding treatment side effects and management of side effects.
  • Liaise with other appropriate health care professionals within both hospital and community settings regarding individual patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse on part 1 of the professional register.
  • Teaching and Assessing Qualification.
  • 1st level degree or working towards or equivalent.
