Staff Nurse Gynaecology Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Gynaecology nursing team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic band 5 staff nurse to work on the Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit and inpatient gynaecology. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, 24:7 gynaecology emergency service for women across Worcestershire, alongside elective surgery.
Main Duties
The post holder will work with the team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care within the framework of team nursing. They will act with compassion, putting patients at the centre of all they do. They will communicate effectively with patients and their carers regarding their care and educate patients where there is a need. They will participate in preceptorship programmes and act as a facilitator/mentor/preceptor/role model to less experienced staff. They will complete patient documentation correctly and contemporaneously. They will communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. They will show commitment to sustaining and developing their clinical competence and professional awareness. They will assist in the training and development of student nurses and healthcare assistants and complete training as required.
