Job Summary


This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 post on Whatman Ward, a 21-bedded inpatient unit with an Acute Frailty Assessment Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of shifts, ensuring high standards of patient care are delivered. As a positive role model for junior staff, you will also play a key part in supporting the team through changes within the NHS.


About the Role


This challenging and rewarding role requires excellent communication skills and strong leadership qualities. You will work collaboratively with allied health professionals and doctors to ensure effective team working and provide a holistic approach to patient care.


The successful candidate will have experience in an acute hospital setting, with a background in nursing and IV drug therapy. As an expert clinician, you will demonstrate evidence of insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the NHS. Required Skills and Qualifications


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • Leadership skills and experience at Senior Staff Nurse Band 5 (or equivalent)
  • Evidence of further study since qualification and ENB998 (or equivalent) knowledge skill
  • IV drug therapy, IV cannulation & venepuncture skills
  • Experience in acute hospital settings and managing patients requiring Non-Invasive Ventilation and Tracheostomy care
