About Oakhill Secure Training Centre (STC)

Oakhill STC is a secure training centre that cares for children aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. Our team of professionals works tirelessly to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth, learning, and positive change.

Your Role:

As a PE Instructor at Oakhill STC, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality physical education programs that promote physical activity, teamwork, and sportsmanship among our students. You will work closely with our Education team to develop and implement engaging and challenging lesson plans that meet the unique needs of each individual child.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • To teach a range of Physical Education qualifications as directed, to a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rated level.
  • To develop the curriculum in line with national requirements, local community needs, and the needs of employment.
  • To provide regular feedback to young people and to give group and individual tutorial support to enable them to achieve maximum benefit from their course or program.
  • To compile and maintain course and young people records.
The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced PE Instructor who shares our passion for helping young people reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in teaching physical education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with children and young adults.

Key Requirements:

  • A recognized qualification in physical education, such as QTS or equivalent.
  • Experience of teaching qualifications from Entry Level to Level 3.
  • Proven track record of delivering 'Good' or 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated level lessons.
