About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at HealthcareNZ Limited. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities in our residential services in Nelson.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Support individuals with various aspects of daily life, including leisure activities, education, and employment.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements
  • A passion for helping others and a kind, understanding approach.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • A full driver's license is essential.
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
  • Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are essential in this role, as we support individuals from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
