Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to join our Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective decision-making process for Children Looked After and Children with a Child Protection Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair statutory reviews for children looked after by Islington Council
  • Ensure correct decisions and recommendations are made when planning for children
  • Contribute to improved standards and outcomes for children and their families
  • Quality assure the service provided

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations, 2010, the IRO Handbook, Working Together to Safeguard Children and London Child Protection Procedures
  • Excellent chairing skills, with the ability to manage difficult meetings and ensure the participation of children and young people and their parents
  • Strong report writing skills and attention to detail
