Collections Portfolio Manager

This role is responsible for delivering high levels of service to borrowers, ensuring their needs are met and appropriate outcomes are achieved. The Collections Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day support in management of a variety of accounts, covering all aspects of account management to mitigate risk to the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Initiate and maintain contact with borrowers, requesting financial information with clear deadlines and providing borrowers with all available options to ensure an appropriate outcome is achieved.
  2. Provide help and guidance to borrowers facing difficulties exiting their bridging facility, taking responsibility for finding resolutions and dealing with sensitive situations.
  3. Effective questioning and communication to understand borrower's circumstances, assessing the plausibility of exit strategy while providing a professional and valuable service to maintain relationships.
  4. Build relationships with solicitors, receivers, borrowers, and key stakeholders.
  5. Understand markets, products, and operating environment to support the design of learning and development solutions that add value to borrowers.
  6. Review and assess developments, making accurate and informed decisions in relation to their progress, planning, etc., ensuring a full and accurate response is provided.
  7. Create account strategies that build on insights into the borrower's situation and define a strategy for supporting and developing assets.
  8. Present a professional image of the company to deliver a positive customer experience throughout the customer journey.
  9. Ensure effective management is carried out on the portfolio to provide a valuable service and maintain relationships.
  10. Consistently complete security assessment reviews and refer key cases to mitigate risk and minimize potential financial losses.
  11. Explore alternative options with customers to ensure accounts are managed to exit in a timely manner.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  1. Must have experience in managing Secured Collections.
  2. Ability to make common sense lending decisions on the whole product range.
  3. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  4. Strong relationship skills.
  5. Strong planning and organization skills.
  6. Methodical with attention to detail.
  7. Good pipeline management skills.
  8. Collections and debt recovery experience.
  9. Strong intellect & professional approach.
  10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  11. Attention to detail and able to meet tight deadlines.
