Job Description

**Offshore Consent Lead/Advisor Role**

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Consent Lead/Advisor to join our team at Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel. As a key member of our Consents team, you will be responsible for scoping and planning all activities and surveys required to facilitate the discharges of consent conditions (including Deemed Marine Licenses) in relation to the pre-construction and construction programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Working closely with the Consents team and Consents Optimisation Lead to ensure alignment across the Project.
  2. Leading on contracting and procuring the relevant environmental and consultancy support to facilitate the pre-construction activities for responsible areas.
  3. Managing the programme of deliverables from the consultants in the responsible areas.
  4. Liaising with other internal stakeholders in relation to the responsible area (e.g., engineering, lands, and commercial) to ensure strong cooperation within the Project between onshore, inter tidal, and offshore packages in relation to offshore consenting risk and deliverables.
  5. Developing and implementing strategies (including risk management strategies) for relevant responsible areas.
  6. Contract and budget management in relation to the responsible area.
  7. Providing input to and support the Consent manager on resource needs, programme, and risks in relation to the responsible areas.
  8. Providing updates on key showstoppers in the responsible areas to the Consent Manager, including updates to the Project risk register.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in a relevant environmental or consenting discipline.
  2. Experience of large-scale EIA and/or DCO projects, preferably offshore wind.
  3. Experience of pre-construction and discharge activities and processes.
  4. Preferably some experience with planning applications and working with local planning authorities.
  5. Experience of other consents and licenses (e.g., EPS and marine licensing).
  6. Knowledge of impact assessment for offshore and inter tidal topic areas.
  7. Experience of developing strategies for high-risk consenting topics.
  8. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and across different cultures.
  9. Experience developing and implementing QA processes.
  10. Experience with stakeholders and regulators relevant to England and Wales is an advantage but not essential.
  11. Preferably, experience working with English and Welsh legislative frameworks.
  12. Experience in procurement activities would be preferable.
  13. Experience in planning for and discharging offshore and inter tidal requirements and conditions and Deemed Marine Licenses.
