Job Description

As a Charge Nurse on Valentine Ellis Ward, you will be responsible for delivering expert clinical care, leading and managing the nursing team, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. You will work closely with the Ward Matron to maintain high levels of nursing standards and assist in leading and monitoring the performance of the nursing team.

You will be expected to assess care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans without supervision, and provide clinical leadership, support, and supervise the nursing staff. This role is pivotal in providing visible nursing leadership within a multi-professional team, focusing on developing the nursing leaders of the future.

Requirements

The successful candidate must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse qualification
  • Teaching Qualification or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience
  • Evidence of positive involvement in staff educational/training provision in a ward environment
