About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Biochemistry department at NHS Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing training and direct supervision to trainees within the department, as well as contributing to the development of the department's specialist areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training and direct supervision to trainees within the department
  • Contribute to the development of the department's specialist areas, including the Scottish Trace Element and Micronutrient Diagnostic and Research Laboratory (STEMDRL)
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff and trainees
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
Requirements
  • HCPC registration as a biomedical scientist
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development
  • Specialist portfolio in Biochemistry
  • Possession of a relevant Master of Science degree or equivalent in Biochemistry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
