This is a fixed-term position of 12 months, requiring a Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our team in a highly specialized area of biochemistry. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing training and direct supervision to trainees within the department, working on a 24/7 shift pattern, including 12-hour shifts.

The department has a number of highly specialized areas, including the Scottish Trace Element and Micronutrient Diagnostic and Research Laboratory (STEMDRL), which performs over 10 million analyses of over 180 different tests, making it one of the largest in the UK.

The successful applicant will be part of a friendly team of Specialist Biomedical Scientists and support staff, responsible for providing high-quality services and contributing to the department's continued professional and personal development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • HCPC registration as a biomedical scientist.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
  • Specialist portfolio in Biochemistry.
  • Possession of a relevant Master of Science degree or equivalent in Biochemistry.
