Main Responsibilities:- Take professional responsibility for managing a complex caseload, ensuring effective risk assessment and decision-making.
- Use assessment procedures discerningly to ensure maximum participation and proportionate assessment.
- Employ a range of interventions to promote independence, provide support and protection, and take preventative action.
- Lead in managing positive intervention to prevent deterioration in health and wellbeing, while safeguarding individuals at risk of abuse or neglect.
- Undertake assessment and planning for safeguarding in complex cases, and support colleagues in utilizing safeguarding skills.
- Play a leading role in practice development, promoting a learning culture, and mentoring less experienced staff.
- Deliver formal professional reflective supervision, providing guidance and advice on casework to less experienced qualified staff.
- Take responsibility for clear recording of analysis and judgements, maintaining up-to-date case work records on the database.
- Work within the Directorate's data protection policies.
- CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work or equivalent professional qualification.
- Management qualification at least at Level 4.
- At least 1 year's experience of supervising professional staff.
- Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
- Ability to travel independently to all required areas.
