Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Compliance and Governance Manager at Blue Octopus. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build their career in governance and compliance, to work in a senior role reporting directly to the Finance Director.

About the Role

This role would suit someone driven by working in an organisation with a very clear purpose, which is to build high-quality, affordable homes that support sustainable rural communities. You will provide advice and support to the Executive Team and the Group's Boards and Committees and lead a small team that is responsible for governance, regulatory and legal compliance, data protection, insurance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on governance, regulatory and legal compliance matters
  • Lead a small team responsible for governance, regulatory and legal compliance, data protection, insurance and risk management
  • Develop and implement effective governance and compliance strategies
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team and the Group's Boards and Committees to ensure effective governance and compliance
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards

Requirements

  • Understanding of company constitutions and group governance arrangements
  • A working knowledge of data protection legislation and good practice
  • Excellent stakeholder management at all levels
