About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SHEQ Manager to join our team at Gilks (Nantwich) Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of health, safety, and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve our QHSE management systems to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, complete SHEQ reports, and attend client and company meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage and maintain records of health and safety documents, regulations, and codes of practice to ensure up-to-date knowledge and compliance.
  • Lead internal and external audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain risk assessment method statements (RAMS) to ensure safe working practices and minimize risks.
  • Provide inductions and risk assessments to new employees and contractors to ensure they understand our safety procedures and protocols.
  • Review and approve sub-contractor RAMS and assist with new supplier/sub-contractor pre-approval information to ensure compliance with our standards.
  • Maintain industry standards certifications and ensure our equipment is calibrated and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Record feedback and raise corrective actions and opportunities for improvement where non-conformances are identified to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Assist with training and development programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely and effectively.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading audits in a similar HSE/health and safety role.
  • Either a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety or similar qualification.
  • Good computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to be hands-on with tasks and contribute to the success of our team.

  • Salary up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

  • Permanent contract, working full-time hours 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
