Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive Health, Safety, and Environmental Business Lead to join our Health, Safety & Environmental Team on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for self-development within a diverse and forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the Torus Group Health, Safety & Environmental Policy & Strategy, providing leadership to the central health and safety function.
  • Offer specialist environmental guidance to ensure comprehensive support is available to all stakeholders across the Group.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous review of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System in line with legislation, best practices, and audit requirements.
  • Ensure the Group remains informed of current and future legislative requirements, maintaining legal compliance in all health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Establish strong relationships with the Senior Management Team and the Group's operational functions, overseeing the development and delivery of operational health and safety plans through business partnering and technical support provision.
  • Manage Key Performance Indicators.
  • Hold a professional health and safety qualification equivalent of NEBOSH diploma level.
  • Hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • Have a relevant CSCS Card.
  • Hold or working towards an environmental management qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH Environmental certificate, or equivalent).
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and ability to drive forwards a culture that reflects legislative compliance and best practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
