As the Health, Safety, and Environmental Business Lead, you will be responsible for managing a small team of HS&E professionals. You will play a crucial role in developing and delivering Torus Group's comprehensive Health, Safety & Environmental Policy & Strategy. Your leadership will guide the central health and safety function, providing specialized environmental guidance to ensure all stakeholders across the Group receive comprehensive support.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Developing a deep understanding of Health & Safety legislation and fostering a culture that reflects legislative compliance and best practices.
  • Leading and motivating a team of dedicated HS&E professionals.
  • Collaborating effectively with contractors, senior management, and external stakeholders such as the HSE, EHO, Fire Authority, and FSI's.
  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the current CDM Regulations and the ability to produce relevant documentation for diverse construction projects, including new builds and major refurbishments.
  • Conducting thorough accident investigations, preparing comprehensive reports, and participating in meetings involving staff at all levels, up to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • A professional health and safety qualification equivalent to NEBOSH Diploma level.
  • A NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • A relevant CSCS Card.
  • Extensive construction experience.
  • Chartered membership of IOSH (or actively working towards it).
  • Relevant environmental management qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Environmental certificate, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • A full UK driving license.
