Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Business Lead to join our team at Search. As a key member of our Health, Safety & Environmental Team, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering our Health, Safety & Environmental Policy & Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System that meets legislative requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a small team of HS&E professionals, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior management, operational functions, and external stakeholders, including contractors, HSE, and EHO.
- Oversee the development and delivery of operational health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with legislation and industry standards.
- Manage and resource the central support team to adapt to the organisation's evolving needs as it grows.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System is effective and compliant.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure all employees are aware of their health, safety, and environmental responsibilities.
- Manage and investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.
Requirements:
- Hold a professional health and safety qualification equivalent of NEBOSH diploma level.
- Hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Have a relevant CSCS Card.
- Have excellent construction experience.
- Be a chartered member of IOSH (or working towards).
- Hold or working towards an environmental management qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Environmental certificate, or equivalent).
- Be highly organised with the ability to manage your time effectively.
- Be a team worker with excellent collaboration skills.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
