The Asset Management Service is responsible for the strategic oversight of the council's properties, educational institutions, and transportation assets, ensuring alignment with our Corporate Strategy and effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a proactive Service Support Officer to collaborate within the Asset Management's Service Support Team.

The Service Support Team offers specialized administrative and technical assistance throughout the service. We seek an enthusiastic and driven Service Support Officer to join our established, supportive team and contribute to vital areas within Asset Management.

The role requires strong critical thinking abilities, innovative problem-solving skills, and experience in managing complex challenges effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for supporting senior management and stakeholders within the Asset Management Service. Attention to detail, motivation, and a willingness to engage with corporate systems such as PPMS and HAMS are crucial.

Team responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily office service-related issues
  • Providing comprehensive support to senior management
  • Identifying and implementing procedural enhancements to improve professional practices and customer service, including analyzing management data for senior colleagues.
  • Handling Oracle Fusion procurement tasks, such as ordering equipment
  • Processing invoice payments
  • Supporting work scheduling through the Programme & Project Management System (PPMS)
  • Coordinating and organizing administrative and financial systems and procedures
  • Reviewing administrative processes and recommending improvements for efficiency
  • Taking minutes and noting actions during service-related meetings
  • Assisting with recruitment processes, including interview arrangements
  • Managing Freedom of Information requests and inquiries from Councillors
  • Overseeing a team mailbox
