Position Overview

We are seeking an Array Cable Project Engineer for a prominent offshore wind energy developer. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful engineering and management of array cables and their associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the engineering processes related to the supply, jointing, termination, and testing of array cables, ensuring compliance with high voltage cable (HVC) standards throughout project development and execution.
  • Lead technical discussions and interfaces within the cable package, providing essential HVC insights to both internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ensure that the technical specifications from internal stakeholders are effectively integrated into supplier designs.
  • Evaluate and assess technical proposals from suppliers to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Facilitate the approval of detailed designs necessary for certification.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of supplier engineering documentation and perform independent analyses using approved in-house tools.
  • Review and validate cable route designs and routing plans for offshore substations (OSS) and floating offshore units (FOU).
  • Contribute technical expertise to project risk assessments, change requests, and claims management.
  • Manage changes not covered under formal change requests.
  • Participate in technical and quality audits alongside the QHSE team.
  • Define and coordinate inspection and testing activities specific to the project, including but not limited to PQT, EQT, TT, FAI, FAT, and SAT.
  • Review and approve quality-related documentation from suppliers, including ITPs, PQP, and test reports.
  • Prepare inspection checklists for various testing phases, utilizing Digital Inspection Tools (DIT) as necessary.
  • Assign RDS-PP asset codes and prepare operational manuals and spare parts registers for handover to operations and maintenance.
  • Manage the electrical and thermal aspects of cables and cable protection systems (CPS).

Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of high voltage cable systems, including electrical and thermal considerations, with the ability to interpret industry standards and technical requirements.
  • Proven capability to devise effective technical solutions to challenges encountered during project development and execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of both practical and theoretical experience in high voltage array cables and accessories.
  • Strong project engineering skills, including technical expertise, integrity, communication, adaptability, teamwork, and decision-making abilities; experience with client IT tools and procedures is preferred.
