Position Overview

We are seeking an Array Cable Project Engineer for a prominent offshore wind energy developer. This role involves significant responsibilities in the engineering and management of array cables and associated connection equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the engineering processes related to the supply, jointing, termination, and testing of array cables, ensuring compliance with high voltage cable (HVC) standards.
  • Lead technical discussions and interfaces within the cable package, providing essential HVC technical insights to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ensure that the technical specifications from internal stakeholders are integrated into supplier designs as necessary.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers' technical proposals and ensure that detailed designs meet certification requirements.
  • Verify supplier product designs through comprehensive reviews of engineering documentation or independent analyses using approved tools.
  • Review and approve cable route designs and routing plans for offshore substations (OSS) and floating offshore units (FOU).
  • Contribute to project risk assessments, change requests, variation orders, and claims management.
  • Manage changes that are not covered under formal change requests.
  • Participate in technical and quality audits alongside the QHSE team.
  • Define and coordinate inspection and testing activities specific to the project, including various testing phases.
  • Review and accept quality-related documentation from suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal quality assurance standards.
  • Prepare inspection checklists for manufacturing and testing phases, utilizing digital inspection tools.
  • Compile and assign asset codes and prepare operational manuals and spare parts registers for handover.
  • Address electrical and thermal aspects of cables and connection point systems (CPSs).

Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of high voltage cable systems, with a focus on electrical and thermal properties, and the ability to interpret industry standards.
  • Proven capability to devise effective technical solutions to challenges encountered during project execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical and theoretical experience in high voltage array cables and accessories.
  • Demonstrated project engineering skills, including technical expertise, integrity, communication, adaptability, teamwork, and decision-making.
  • Familiarity with client IT tools and procedures is preferred.
