Position Overview

The Array Cable Engineering Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the engineering aspects of supply, jointing, termination, and testing of array cables, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to various locations across the UK and EU as required by project demands.
  • Work Schedule: Standard Monday to Friday shift pattern.
  • Contract Duration: Minimum 12-month engagement.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the technical interfaces within the cable package, providing essential input to both internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Design Evaluation: Assess and validate suppliers' technical proposals, ensuring alignment with client specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the detailed design process, ensuring all aspects are certified and meet quality standards.
  • Documentation Review: Review and accept quality-related documentation from suppliers, including inspection and testing plans.
  • Inspection Coordination: Define and manage project-specific inspection and testing activities, ensuring thorough oversight during manufacturing and testing phases.
  • Risk Management: Provide technical input regarding project risks, change requests, and claims.
  • Change Management: Responsible for managing changes not covered under standard requests.
  • Audit Participation: Engage in technical and quality audits alongside the QHSE team.
  • Asset Management: Prepare and assign asset codes and maintain documentation for operational handover.
  • Non-Conformance Reporting: Manage non-conformance reports and related documentation.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of high voltage cable systems, focusing on both electrical and thermal aspects.
Qualifications
  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in high voltage array cables and accessories.
  • Strong project engineering skills, including technical proficiency, integrity, and effective communication.
  • Familiarity with client IT tools and procedures is preferred.
