Position Overview

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical aspects of diverse offshore cable initiatives, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Engineer and design submarine cable systems, focusing on route selection, cable specifications, and installation techniques.
  • Perform feasibility assessments, including cable load calculations, while adhering to industry regulations and standards.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to create effective cable designs that fulfill project objectives.
  • Determine suitable cable types, assess routing and burial requirements, and conduct risk evaluations, including cable rating calculations.
  • Oversee the design development of array cables, optimizing both array and export cables.
  • Engage actively in industry working groups such as CIGRE and IEEE.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, preferably in Electrical or Power Engineering.
  • Experience in offshore cable engineering, marine renewable energy, or the oil and gas sector is highly advantageous.
  • Experience with HVDC projects, both onshore and offshore, including HV cable system design and ratings (CYMCAP) is desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of submarine cable systems, encompassing design, installation practices, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Familiarity with offshore design development, marine construction projects, and subsea infrastructure design.
  • Progress towards Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as project needs arise.
