Role Purpose

We are seeking a skilled PCB Design Engineer to contribute to the development of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Printed Board Assemblies (PBAs) used in our Power Feeding Equipment (PFE). The PFE is crucial for powering undersea cable systems, converting low to medium voltage DC supply into high voltage output while ensuring long system life and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive parts library using CR/CR database management tools.
  • Create component shapes, symbols, and other necessary design elements as requested by hardware engineers.
  • Collaborate with hardware design engineers to perform schematic capture and PCB layout design.
  • Conduct DFx (Design for X) analysis to optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, and testing.
  • Establish and maintain Design Rules for automated PCB checking processes.
  • Generate and manage all PCB and PBA manufacturing data, including Bill of Materials (BoMs) and technical drawings.
  • Respond to PCB fabrication design for manufacturability (DFM) analysis and manufacturing queries.
  • Export 3D models in MCAD format (Creo).

Required Expertise

Proficiency in Zuken CR (or CR) SD, BD, and Components Manager (librarian) PCB CAD software.

Familiarity with relevant IPC standards for PCB design and manufacturing.

In-depth understanding of PCB fabrication and PBA manufacturing processes, including stack-up limitations, material selection, panelization techniques, and best practices.

Additional Expertise (Beneficial)

Zuken Lightning power analysis software experience.

Experience designing PCBs for high voltage and/or high current applications.

Other Tools

Microsoft Office Suite.

PDM tool (PTC Windchill).
