Job Description

Role Purpose:

As an Electrical Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, qualification, and documentation of hardware for our Power Feeding Equipment (PFE) product. The PFE provides power to undersea cable systems, generating high voltage from a low to medium voltage DC supply, with a long system life and high reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product development within Electrical and Electronic engineering disciplines, including analogue and digital circuit design, A to D and D to A techniques, closed loop control, FPGA and CPLD hardware implementation, and interfaces.
  • Use of simulation tools, schematic capture, and PCB layout software.
  • Development of products that meet agreed functionality, environmental conditions, reliability, availability, and lifetime requirements.
  • Generation of requirement specifications, schematics, test information, reports, and manufacturing information.

Requirements:

  • Electrical or Electronics Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum years of experience in relevant R&D, preferably with experience of manufacturing.
  • Good understanding of general electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Good communication skills.
