Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Digital Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance engineers to achieve high standards of maintenance for all our sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership to the maintenance team to achieve high standards of maintenance for all sites.
  • Maintenance Management: Manage and maintain a highly valued Maintenance Team.
  • Communication: Liaise with other services, internal and external customers, and the public in the provision of high standards of maintenance.
Performance Measures
  • Management and Leadership: Demonstrate effective management and leadership skills to achieve high standards of maintenance.
  • Relationship Building: Develop good working relationships with all staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Preventative Actions: Swiftly implement preventative actions to minimize downtime and ensure high standards of maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Workforce Management: Effectively manage a dispersed workforce, assess training needs, and provide 'on the job' advice and guidance to develop the engineering team.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Be responsible for carrying out the routine servicing and planned maintenance of production equipment and building services as directed.
  • Service Programme Development: Contribute to the ongoing development of the service programme, making recommendations for changes based on experience from breakdowns and the operating conditions of the machine.
  • Safety and Compliance: Be aware of the relevant regulations regarding the electrical and mechanical safety of plant and equipment, and the test results that you would expect from equipment in a safe and satisfactory condition.
  • Problem-Solving: Diagnose and repair minor faults to production equipment and building services.
  • Alterations and Improvements: Actively assist in alterations to the building services and fabric on an opportunity basis and as directed by the engineering manager.
  • Supplier Management: Locate the relevant details of suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, etc. to resolve an urgent problem in the absence of the engineering manager.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform ad hoc tasks and reasonable requests as and when required.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure company compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines for food safety, food hygiene, Good Manufacturing Practices, and quality.
  • Paperwork and Administration: Assist with the control and filing of paperwork planned maintenance, and any other contractor-related documents.
About You

We are looking for an experienced Digital Engineering Manager with a strong background in maintenance engineering, food production, manufacturing, facilities maintenance, and leadership and management experience. You should have a good understanding of electrical and mechanical safety regulations and be able to diagnose and repair minor faults to production equipment and building services.

Requirements
  • Experience: Ideally 1 year of experience in maintenance engineering, food production, manufacturing, facilities maintenance, and leadership and management.
