About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist primary school students with special educational needs, including those with SEND, SEMH, and ADHD.
  • Provide personalized support in small groups or one-to-one basis to promote students' academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and resources to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Help deliver tailored learning plans aligned with the curriculum and key stages, ensuring each child can engage fully.
  • Provide classroom support in the absence of teachers to ensure continuity of learning.
  • Encourage positive behavior and help students develop social skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
Requirements
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, or as a SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach to working with young children.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude towards supporting students and adapting to their needs.
