Location: Greater Portsmouth Area

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support our Primary schools in the Greater Portsmouth area. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with SEN, as well as small group support to enhance their learning experience.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, as well as implementing individualized education plans.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other support staff to share best practices and ensure consistency in support provision.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting pupils with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEN, either professionally or personally.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting pupils with SEN.
