Their extensive yet focused presence establishes them as a key player in Europe, alongside a significant footprint in the Americas and Asia Pacific. Deutsche Bank offers a comprehensive range of services including commercial and investment banking, retail banking, transaction banking, as well as innovative asset and wealth management products and services.
On behalf of Deutsche Bank, AMS is currently seeking a Risk Manager to join their New Business Office team. This position operates on a PAYE basis and involves a hybrid work model.
The primary responsibility of this role is to spearhead the redesign of the risk assessment framework that supports the Bank's approval process for new products and strategic initiatives. The core focus will be on the identification, analysis, management, and approval of new products and strategic initiatives within the Bank.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the comprehensive redesign of the financial and operational risk assessment framework that underpins the approval process for new products and strategic initiatives, ensuring robustness, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist the Global Head of the New Business Office in the timely and effective resolution of audit findings, contributing to the overall enhancement of control frameworks.
- Engage with key business stakeholders and control functions to secure buy-in and facilitate the smooth implementation of the redesigned risk assessment.
- Collaborate with the Operational Risk Framework team to ensure alignment and connectivity with broader operational risk framework components, including Risk and Controls Assessment.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Business Analyst overseeing the implementation of the redesigned risk assessment, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in a similar role within Financial Services, with significant expertise in designing and auditing risk assessments that support the approval of new products and strategic initiatives at both product and portfolio levels.
- In-depth knowledge of industry best practices related to risk assessment.
- Familiarity with Financial Risk frameworks and Operational Risk frameworks, including Risk and Controls assessments and risk profiles.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly to senior stakeholders, engage in constructive discussions, and adapt based on feedback.
- Proven experience in dealing with Auditors and Regulators, with the ability to define action plans to address audit findings, coordinate execution, and produce high-quality closure documentation.
- Previous experience working with senior stakeholders in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks and controls, coupled with a proactive approach to mitigate identified issues.
- A demonstrated ability to develop and communicate a sound strategy that addresses both immediate commitments and long-term strategic objectives.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, capable of distilling complex topics into understandable summaries with clear conclusions and rationale.
- The individual will play a supportive role during a period of significant change for this function, thus prior experience with change initiatives is advantageous.
