About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Palliative Care Nurse to join our team at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital. As a Staff Nurse in our Hospice setting, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver skilled nursing care to patients, promoting their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Experience in specialist palliative care or oncology, with a strong understanding of the principles of palliative care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive records, with a strong attention to detail.
