About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Palliative Care Nurse to join our team at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital. As a Staff Nurse in our Hospice setting, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver skilled nursing care to patients, promoting their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Band 5 Nurse in a community team or similar setting.
  • Demonstrable expertise in palliative care, with a strong understanding of the principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with a high degree of independence and initiative.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices and research in palliative care.
