Job Title: Band 5 Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Band 5 Nurse to join our team at Haven House, a leading children's hospice in the UK. As a Band 5 Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people with palliative care needs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in paediatric palliative care. As a Band 5 Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct care to children and young people, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to children and young people with palliative care needs
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of patient care, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
  • Develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge in paediatric palliative care, staying up-to-date with best practices and guidelines
  • Work effectively with families and carers to provide emotional support and guidance
  • Participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (Child/Adult/LD) qualification
  • Palliative Care/Symptom Management in Life-Limiting Illness or similar module
  • Experience of working in a paediatric setting, preferably in palliative care
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach clinical skills to parents/care staff
