Logistics Operations Manager

Menzies Distribution Limited is seeking a seasoned Logistics Operations Manager to oversee our distribution activities. We are a dynamic logistics organization focused on delivering efficient supply chain solutions across various sectors, including retail and eCommerce.

Position Overview

  • Salary: Competitive annual salary
  • Location: Newbridge area
  • Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with potential weekend flexibility

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will assist the Operations Manager in optimizing operational performance by directing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. This role includes providing leadership, motivation, and training to the workforce while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Core Duties:

  • Accountable for the effective management and oversight of depot operations.
  • Support and develop the operational team to achieve performance goals.
  • Ensure operations consistently meet or exceed customer expectations aligned with established KPIs.
  • Foster and maintain productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in meeting all operational performance standards.
  • Conduct regular team reviews and facilitate training and development opportunities.
  • Monitor the efficient use of driver and vehicle resources.
  • Build and nurture relationships with customers.
  • Analyze operational and financial performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate site maintenance to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of drivers' hours, tachograph, and working time regulations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Experience in budget management and project oversight.
  • Capability in KPI development and assessment.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in computerized systems, including TMS and WMS.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Background in transport management.
