Position: Logistics Operations Manager

Company Overview: Menzies Distribution is a dynamic logistics organization specializing in time-sensitive supply chain solutions across various sectors including retail and eCommerce. We are seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to enhance our operational capabilities.

Role Overview:

The Logistics Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing our distribution processes. This position involves collaborating closely with the Operations Manager to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily management of depot operations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the operational team to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Monitor and enhance operational performance to consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all operations.
  • Assist in achieving operational performance standards and metrics.
  • Conduct regular team reviews and facilitate training and development initiatives.
  • Optimize the utilization of driver and vehicle resources for maximum efficiency.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate site maintenance and housekeeping to uphold safety standards.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph regulations, and working time directives.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop teams effectively.
  • Experience in budget management and project oversight.
  • Skilled in KPI development and performance measurement.
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in computerized systems, including transport management and warehouse management systems.
  • High attention to detail with strong numerical skills.
  • Experience in transport management is essential.
