At Menzies Distribution, we are seeking a skilled Logistics Operations Manager to oversee our distribution activities. This role is crucial in ensuring our logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to our ongoing growth and success.

Position Overview

The Logistics Operations Manager will play a key role in enhancing operational performance by managing daily, weekly, and monthly logistics activities. You will provide leadership, motivation, and training to the workforce while ensuring that customer requirements are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to the Operations Manager for overseeing depot operations.
  • Lead, support, and develop the operational team to achieve high performance.
  • Ensure operational performance meets and exceeds customer expectations aligned with contract KPIs.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in achieving operational performance standards.
  • Conduct regular team reviews and facilitate training and development for staff.
  • Monitor and optimize the use of driver and vehicle resources.
  • Establish strong working relationships with customers.
  • Analyze operational and financial performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate site maintenance to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK as required.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Drivers Hours, Tachograph, and Working Time Directive legislation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience in KPI development and measurement.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in using computerized systems, including TMS and WMS.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience in transport management.
