Menzies Distribution is seeking an experienced Distribution Manager to join our team in Newbridge, just outside Edinburgh. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for directing the daily, weekly, and monthly activities of the depot operation, ensuring the performance of the operation exceeds customer expectations in line with recognised contract KPIs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise the depot operation, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure effective working relationships and meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze operational and financial performance data to identify service efficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate site housekeeping and maintenance to ensure health and safety requirements are upheld.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in logistics and transportation management.
  • Knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph, and WTD legislation.
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop people.
  • Strong budget management and project management skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and numeracy, keen eye for detail.
