Job Description

As a Director's Support Manager at the Department for Work and Pensions, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional support to the Senior Leadership Team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of the team's activities, including diary management, meeting coordination, and correspondence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diary Management: You will be responsible for scheduling meetings and events, ensuring that priority tasks are completed on time, and aligning them with the team's strategic objectives.
  • Meeting Coordination: You will act as the secretariat for meetings, capturing actions, and ensuring that they are regularly reviewed to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Correspondence and Communication: You will manage the daily inbox of the Senior Leader, acting as the initial point of contact for general enquiries and ensuring that detailed requests are communicated in a timely manner.
  • Relationship Building: You will develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders, team members, and external partners.
  • Administrative Support: You will provide administrative support to the Senior Leader, including preparing documents, reports, and presentations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: You will have demonstrable experience in providing support services to senior leaders, including anticipating issues before they arise and responding to unplanned challenges.
  • Communication Skills: You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to use varying methods of communication and evidence of summarizing key messages and recording and tracking information.
  • Organizational Skills: You will have strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities while working in a high-profile, fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: You will have experience working with digital tools, including Office365, Microsoft Word, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
