Trade Compliance Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Admin Clerk to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our freight department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers' supply chains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collate information and update business systems in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Liaise with external partners, including border control posts and government agencies, to facilitate customs clearance and resolve queries.
- Complete customs entries on company systems, utilizing your knowledge of customs processes and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve customs queries promptly, providing clear and concise communication to stakeholders.
- Prepare necessary documentation, such as packing lists and commercial invoices, to support customs clearance.
- Respond to exceptions and alerts, providing progress and information status updates to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring they are informed and updated on customs clearance progress.
- Maintain effective communication within the customs admin team and contribute to a collaborative working environment.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Inquisitive nature with a strong IT skill set and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Team player with a self-driven approach to personal development and a flexible approach to daily tasks and workload.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Experience in the freight industry (import/export) is desirable, particularly with international road freight.
- Knowledge of customs processes and procedures is advantageous.
