Role Overview

Carnsew Quarry, part of the Colas Ltd Group, is a quarrying enterprise located in Cornwall. We currently have a permanent opening for a Plant Equipment Operator to join our dedicated and hardworking team. Key Responsibilities

As a Plant Equipment Operator, you will adhere to the Quarry Regulations 1999, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, statutory obligations, company directives, managerial guidelines, and safe working practices. Your responsibilities will include operating machinery in strict accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines and conducting daily inspections on equipment. You will be required to complete necessary documentation, assist the maintenance team, perform sentry duties during blasting operations, and participate in inductions, toolbox talks, and all relevant briefings.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To excel in this position, you should exhibit a strong work ethic, possess effective communication skills, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, and be capable of functioning as a valuable team member. Ideally, you will have experience in the quarrying sector and possess geotechnical awareness or have operated heavy machinery; however, full training can be provided to candidates from an industrial background who are willing to work outdoors.
