About the Role

Colas Ltd, a leading global infrastructure company, is seeking a skilled Plant Operator to join our team at Carnsew Quarry in Cornwall. As a Plant Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our quarrying equipment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy machinery in compliance with manufacturer's instructions and Quarry Regulations 1999.
  • Perform daily checks on plant and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Complete required paperwork and assist the maintenance team in maintaining equipment.
  • Participate in sentry duties during blasting activities and attend inductions, toolbox talks, and briefings.
Requirements
  • Strong work ethic and good communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in the quarrying industry or heavy machinery operation is preferred, but full training can be provided to the right candidate.
