Job Description

As a key member of our team at TUV SUD Limited, you will play a crucial role in providing a wireless testing service, undertaking RF (Radio Frequency), OTA (Over The Air) or SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) testing on a wide range of wireless products. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring compliance with European and FCC specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • RF Certification Testing: Perform RF certification testing in accordance with European and FCC specifications, ensuring that wireless products meet the required standards.
  • Wireless Product Testing: Test wireless products to various international test standards, including WLAN, Bluetooth, GSM, PMR radio, and base stations.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Assess products prior to testing, define test requirements, and develop a test plan to ensure efficient and effective testing.
  • Test Reporting and Documentation: Record test results using electronic logbook systems and produce test reports, adhering to company quality procedures.
  • Test Method Development: Collaborate with the team to develop test methods and departmental documentation, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Customer Support: Work closely with customers during attended testing, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Test Equipment Calibration: Monitor and control the test equipment calibration status during testing, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Project Management: Work in close liaison with the Project Manager to ensure work is carried out accurately and within the specified timescales.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Hold qualifications in Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
  • Practical Aptitude: Demonstrate a practical aptitude and a good understanding of IT systems, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational Skills: Possess strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of analytical and pattern recognition skills.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to deliver work independently or as part of a team, to defined deadlines, with good interpersonal skills and commercial awareness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Show an enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to be involved in continuous improvement activities.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to work closely and professionally with customers, with a willingness to support ad-hoc flexible working to assist international clients outside of standard working hours.
Desirable Criteria:
  • RF Testing Experience: Experience of RF testing in a test house environment, including the use of RF test equipment such as spectrum/network analysers, signal generators, and RF power meters.
  • Test Automation: Experience in test automation using packages such as HPVEE,.net, and Labview.
  • Radio Performance Standards: Understanding of radio performance standards such as ETSI and FCC test standards.
  • Audits: Experience of audits, including the ability to identify and address any non-compliance issues.
